An intriguing and romantic silvered and gilt bronze group of a young knight in full armour carrying his beloved naked upon his shield as she lifts his visor delicately kissing and embracing him to welcome him home from his long travels. The bronze with crisp detail and good colour, signed Clemencin and inscribed with title to the front of the integral circular base. The title meaning is ‘He Who Was Taken’ and epitomises how the love of a woman can capture a man’s heart more than the thrill of battle and deeper than the excitement of war. A charming subject that will also ‘capture the heart’ of its admirer.
